Authorisations search

  This feature is available to merchants using our TRU Connect gateway.

The "Authorisations" stored search returns all purchases and refunds that were processed via the TRU Connect gateway (including successful authorisations, declines and any errors).


  Required user roles

Admin, Developer, TransactionUser, ViewFeesAndStatements, ViewTransactionsOnly


  How to access

  1. portal-selectsite-2.pngSelect “Transactions” from the side-bar to open the Transactions page.

  2. In the top left, select "Site Reference" and then specify a site reference to search.

  3. From "Stored Searches", select "Authorisations".

  4. Fill out the rest of the form as necessary. Click here to learn more.

  5. Click "Search".

  A maximum of 1,000 records can be returned in a search. You can perform larger searches by using the options provided to perform an "Export" rather than an "On screen" search. This will export a file for download.

In the search results returned, each table entry represents a unique transaction. By default, each transaction is displayed with the following columns of information:

  To change the columns returned in the search results, click "Advanced" and customise the "Fields" selected from the options presented. Click here to learn more.

Column name Description
Reference

Uniquely identifies the transaction on the TRU Connect gateway.

  Click the reference to open the transaction details view. This allows you to view more details on the given transaction. Click here to learn more.

Status

A summary of the transaction status. Common values are:

  • Settled - Transaction complete. Funds have been settled into your merchant account.
  • Settling - Transfer of funds in progress. (No action needed)
  • Pending - Authorisation by acquiring/issuing bank was successful. Settlement is pending. (No action needed)
  • Manual - Same as "Pending" described above, except fraud and duplicate checks have been manually overridden.
  • Suspended - Transaction was authorised by acquiring/issuing bank but has been suspended on the gateway. You must approve or cancel the transaction.
  • Cancelled - Transaction cancelled. Any reserved funds will be released to the customer.
  • Decline - Transaction declined by acquiring/issuing bank.
  • Error - Transaction failed due to an error.
Account

The type of account used to process the transaction:

  • CFT - Cardholder Funds Transfer.
  • ECOM - E-commerce transaction.
  • MOTO - Mail Order Telephone Order transaction.
  • POS - Point Of Sale transaction.
  • RECUR - Recurring transaction.
Request

The type of request processed by the gateway:

  • AUTH - Customer has made a purchase.
  • REFUND - You have performed a refund.
Payment type The payment method used to process the transaction.
Billing name The customer's billing name.
Timestamp

The definition of this timestamp is dependent on the "Date Type" selected in the drop-down at the top right of the page.

The default for this view is "Transaction Started", which means that the date and times shown in the results table represent when the transaction was authorised by the acquiring/issuing bank.

The timezone is shown in brackets (e.g. "GMT").

Currency The currency associated with the transaction (in ISO3A format).
Authorised amount The amount to be authorised for the transaction.
Settle amount The amount to be settled for the transaction.
Settle status

The state of a transaction in the settlement process:

  • 0 - Pending settlement.
  • 1 - Manual settlement.
  • 2 - Suspended.
  • 3 - Cancelled.
  • 10 - Settling.
  • 100 - Settled.
Error code Displays the outcome of a submitted request. Different error codes indicate different outcomes. e.g. "0" indicates a successful request and "70000" indicates a decline. Click here to learn more.
Card number The card number found on the front of the customer's card (masked). Only shown if the customer paid using a credit or debit card.
Order reference The reference assigned by your organisation to help track the order.
