This guide explains how to enable tokenization (card storage) for the Payment Pages solution in your Adobe Commerce extension. Tokenization allows customers to securely save their payment cards for future purchases.
Before enabling tokenization, ensure you have completed the following steps:
Configuration Steps

Navigate to Trust Payments Configuration
- Sign in to your Store Admin
- On the Admin Sidebar, select the Trust Payments logo
- Navigate to Stores > Configuration
- On the next page, navigate to Sales > Payment Methods
- Expand the "OTHER PAYMENT METHODS" section, then select the Configure button next to the Trust Payments extension

Configure API Settings
Expand the API settings section and configure the following:
Setting Description Enabled Keep this set to "No" to prevent the API solution UI from appearing on checkout. This avoids duplicate payment options. Test Environment Select "Yes" when testing tokenisation, "No" when processing live transactions. Site Reference Enter your test site reference when testing, or live site reference when live.
The site reference in the API section must match the site reference in your Payment Pages configuration.Web Services Username Enter the Web Services username created in Portal.
This must be the same Web Services username entered in the Payment Pages settings section.Web Services Password Enter the Web Services password created in Portal.

Enable Tokenisation in Payment Pages
Expand the Payment Pages settings section and locate the Use Tokenization option.
Select "Yes" to enable this feature. This will display a tick box on the payment method, giving customers the option to store their payment card for future purchases.

Customise the Save Card Message
Configure the "Save CC details?" field to set the message customers will see when choosing to save their card.
For example, if you set this to "Please save my card!", your checkout will display:

Test the Configuration
Complete a test transaction with the save card option selected. Following a successful transaction, the saved card(s) should appear on the customer's next checkout like this:
Going Live with Tokenization
When you're ready to process live transactions with tokenization, update the following settings in the API section:
- Set Test Environment to "No"
- Update Site Reference to your live site reference
- Ensure the Site Reference matches in both API and Payment Pages sections
Always test tokenization thoroughly in the test environment before enabling the functionality for live transactions.
