Sending receipt as part of the transaction

Immediately after the customer has completed a transaction they will be displayed the following confirmation screen. At this moment, they can either scan the QR code with their own smartphone to view the receipt or alternatively tap “Send the receipt email” and enter their email address to have the receipt emailed to them.

  These options are only available if enabled in the app settings. If you processed a transaction while the preferred method of sending the receipt was disabled, you can go to the app settings to enable the functionality and then send a receipt manually afterwards by following the steps below.

 

Sending receipt after the transaction

If you need to provide a customer with a receipt at a later time, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the   icon in the top left and from the menu select "Receipts".


  2. Use the interface to find the transaction for which you wish to provide a receipt and tap to open.

      Transactions are displayed in a list starting with the most recent at the top. You can tap the options found along the top of the screen to filter transactions by different types (e.g. "Approved" or "Declined").

  3. Once you have selected the transaction, you will be shown the screen below. If the customer is present, you can present the device to them so they can scan the QR code with their own smartphone. This will display the receipt on their device.

    Alternatively, tap "Send receipt" and enter the customer's email address to have the receipt emailed to them.

Receipt options

To enable/disable receipt functionality in the app, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the   icon in the top left and from the menu select "Settings".


  2. From the Settings screen, tap “Sending receipt options”.

  3. From here you can enable/disable "Send by email" and "Sending by QR Code" features (these are enabled by default).

Receipt format

Digital receipts contain important transaction information and serve as proof of transaction in the case of dispute claims:

  1. Transaction type – This can either be "PURCHASE" or "REFUND".
  2. Merchant name and address, and also the username that carried out the request.
  3. This panel contains:
    • [Transaction] Type – (As described above)
    • Mode - This will always be "CONTACTLESS".
    • Payment network - The customer's card scheme: Either Mastercard or Visa.
    • Card - The last 4 digits of the card number.
  4. This panel contains:
    • Transaction amount and currency (including the tip, if applicable).
    • Date and time the transaction was processed.
    • Transaction status - This can be "Approved", "Declined" or "Error".
  5. This panel contains:
    • Application ID – The application number for the payment card.
    • Device ID – Unique identifier for the device.
    • TVR - The Terminal Verification Results.
    • Terminal ID – Unique identifier for the merchant's store.
    • Application - The card type used for the transaction (e.g. "DEBIT MASTERCARD")
